SME Actors Contained Will Be Awarded By Citibank

In order to support government programs to promote micro entrepreneurs, Citi Indonesia (Citibank) through the umbrella of Corporate Social Responsibility activities, Citi Peka (Caring and Working), together with the implementing partners of the Mercy Corps Indonesia program, held the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards (CMA) for the period 2018-2019 in Bandung, West Java, Thursday.
The event which has entered its 14th year is the flagship Citibank initiative and program funded by the Citi Foundation and implemented in 30 countries, including Indonesia.
"The Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards aims to increase insights on the importance of entrepreneurship and access to finance for micro entrepreneurs, and in line with the National Strategy for Inclusive Finance (SNKI) launched by the government," said Citi Indonesia Director, Country Head of Corporate Affairs Elvera N. Makki.
After the success was held in Surabaya, this time a similar event was held in Bandung City, West Java on November 22, 2018. This activity became a venue for sharing information about the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards for MSME players and Microfinance Institutions.
During the period of holding CMA in Indonesia since it was first held in 2005, this event has received registration of up to 13,000 Indonesian micro entrepreneurs and has given awards to more than 240 micro entrepreneurs. This is in line with the mission of Citibank which is to enable economic growth and progress for the communities in which Citibank operates.
As is known, West Java is famous for its high entrepreneurial spirit. Based on data from the West Java Provincial Cooperative Office in 2016 there were 4.63 Million Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in West Java.
"This is one of the reasons for holding Road to CMA 201-2019 in Bandung, which is the Capital of West Java Province," Elvera added.
Meanwhile, Andi Ikhwan, Director of Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion, Mercy Corps Indonesia said, in the Road to CMA 2018 activity micro entrepreneurs could directly ask CMA alumni about the benefits and experience of participating in CMA.
The 201819 CMA award is given to the winners divided into 5 (five) categories, namely (1) Agriculture and Fishery Microentrepreneur, (2) Arts and Creative Design Microentrepreneur (3) Culinary Microentrepreneur, (4) Green Microentrepreneur, and ( 5) Service and Innovation Microentrepreneur. In addition there are also 3 (three) special awards that will be given, namely (1) Young Microentrepreneur, (2) Microentrepreneur of the Year, and (3) Best Woman Microentrepreneur. As well as an appreciation award for the Best Microfinance Institutions. The CMA judging process is carried out by a panel of judges from academia, banking, media, businessmen, and the government.
The conditions for participating in the 2018-20 CMA competition are (1) micro entrepreneurs who are customers / members of an MFI and are not finalists of the previous CMA implementation; (2) is an Indonesian citizen and is over 18 years of age; (3) have run their business for a minimum of 2 years; (4) registered business is the main source of income; (5) the value of business assets is a maximum of Rp 50 million (excluding land and buildings); (6) and the total sales or annual turnover of the business is a maximum of Rp 300 million, in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2008 concerning Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
