Boosting Indonesia's Economy, Sandiaga Uno Plans to Develop People's Markets
Harian Press. Candidates for Vice President Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno revealed a number of community market development plans that would be implemented if elected as Indonesian leaders along with Candidates for President Prabowo Subianto.
Sandiaga said, there were at least three things that would be addressed in the plan to develop the people's market in Indonesia, especially in an effort to increase the economy's turnover.
"There are three focuses that we have prepared for the development of the local market," said Sandiaga, as quoted from Antara when visiting Malang Big Market, East Java, Friday (11/23).
In the community market development program, President Joko Widodo previously targeted to revitalize up to 5,000 markets during his five-year leadership period.
When mentioned about his competitor's program, Sandiaga said that what the government had done now would be increased again in the future when he was elected vice-president.
According to him, the physical revitalization of people's markets will remain on the agenda so that the market no longer looks shabby and can be more comfortable. In addition, revamping market management is also carried out by using partnership schemes and cooperating with the business world and the community.
"We are revitalizing, not only physically, but including management. So that this market can be the pulse of the economy of the community," Sandi said.
With human resources and management that have been addressed, he said, traditional markets are expected to be able to cut the distribution chain of goods and become more simple, open, and equitable.
The approach taken to develop the people's market will be holistic and accommodate various stakeholders.
In the 2019 presidential election, there were two pairs of presidential and vice-presidential candidates. Prabowo Subianto paired up with Sandiaga Uno, while President Joko Widodo paired up with KH Ma'ruf Amin.
